Benjamin Knysak (USA)

Managing Associate Director of RIPM, Benjamin Knysak pursued undergraduate and graduate studies in music at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University and received an Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he held the Lawrence King Fellowship. Before joining the staff at RIPM, Knysak was Lecturer in Musicology at Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois); he also worked at Indiana University on the Variations 2 Digital Library project funded by the National Science Foundation. Since joining RIPM in 2004, he has worked on the creation and release of the RIPM Online Archive, the RIPMPlus interface, the e-Library of Music Periodicals, and the forthcoming RIPM Jazz Periodicals project. He has given numerous papers and presentations at international conferences concerning RIPM’s growing importance to musicologists and librarians.
